Belaire Ferries sails between berth C1 at Hobsonville Marina, the old Westpark Marina in West Harbour, and Pier 6 downtown, on weekdays only. Sixteen boats leave the marina each weekday between 06:30 and 18:00, and AT's timetable gives every crossing 35 minutes.
Belaire Ferries' regular Monday to Friday timetable, identical to Auckland Transport's schedule data from 12 October 2026 to 7 February 2027; checked 23 October 2026 Belaire Ferries – West Harbour ferry timetable · 2026-10-23
Start with the calendar: the West Harbour ferry runs Monday to Friday and rests at weekends and on holidays, which is the first thing Belaire tells you on its own page. On a working day the pattern is lopsided in the commuter's favour. Seven of the 16 departures from the marina leave before 09:30, every 20 to 30 minutes between 06:30 and 08:30, and the evening run home has boats from Pier 6 every 25 to 40 minutes between 15:40 and 18:35.
Next, check which marina you are going to. The ferry leaves from berth C1 at Hobsonville Marina in West Harbour, formerly Westpark Marina, the name AT's parking page still uses. It is a different wharf from Hobsonville Point, served by a different operator; if that is where you are heading, use the Hobsonville Point and Beach Haven ferry instead.
Finally, give yourself 35 minutes. Belaire's own description rounds the trip to half an hour, but both its printed table and AT's timetable allow 35 minutes for every crossing, in either direction.
Belaire does not set its own prices: the West Harbour page sends passengers to AT, and the route is in AT's mid-harbour band, the same as Hobsonville Point. That means $10.40 one way for an adult paying by HOP or bank card, and $15 for a paper ticket from the machine. There is no daily or weekly cap on this ferry, so someone commuting five days a week is the person the Mid Harbour monthly pass, $310 a month, is designed for.
Belaire takes SuperGold on every boat from 9am, provided the SuperGold concession sits on the passenger's HOP card, and it asks seniors not to tag on before 8:55am if they want the trip free. Concession travellers should carry ID in case the crew asks.
| Adult, AT HOP or contactless | $ 10.40 |
| Adult, ticket from an AT machine | $ 15 |
| Child 5–15 or secondary student, AT HOP | $ 6.24 |
| Child 5–15 or secondary student, ticket | $ 8.50 |
| Community Connect, AT HOP | $ 5.20 |
| Mid Harbour pass, registered AT HOP | $ 310 |

Nothing interrupts the run: from the marina the boat goes down the upper Waitematā, beneath the bridge, and on to the Queens Wharf side of the ferry terminal. It does not call at Hobsonville Point, although the two wharves are not far apart on the map.
Pier 6 belongs to the group of piers off Queens Wharf, reached by walking round the eastern flank of the terminal building rather than through it, so allow an extra minute or two if you usually catch boats from the main building. AT ticket machines are at this terminal and at West Harbour, for anyone paying without a card.
Boats leave from berth C1, signposted from outside the marina shops. AT's park and ride, entered from 12 Clearwater Cove, has 65 spaces and is free for ferry users; there is also roadside parking along Clearwater Cove and Reflection Drive. Westpark Superette at 17 Clearwater Cove sells and tops up AT HOP cards.
There are no Saturday, Sunday or public holiday sailings, so weekend trips to town mean the bus or the car.
Text ALERT to 3282 for West Harbour service messages; the alerts are free, the sign-up text costs a standard text. The AT Mobile app shows live changes.
If weather or a breakdown stops a sailing, Belaire's stated plan is road transport instead, organised by crew on site.
Belaire asks wheelchair users to ring 09 416 6344 before travelling so it can arrange accessible or alternative transport.
Bikes and e-scooters are carried, with limited room on some peak sailings. Pets are welcome too, except animal pests such as rabbits, ferrets and stoats.
Who will run the boat after mid-2027? AT signed the Western Package contract in July 2026: Belaire Ferries, now partnered with Kelsian Group's SeaLink, keeps West Harbour from 1 July 2027 until 2034, in a bundle that also includes the Birkenhead ferry with its Northcote Point stop, Bayswater and the Rākino Island ferry, which Belaire also sails from Pier 6. Five new 24-metre Metro Class ferries are to be delivered from 2028, and AT says the contract also allows for improvements to the terminal at West Harbour marina.
