One boat serves two wharves. The Hobsonville Point ferry carries on for five minutes past its namesake to Beach Haven, turns round there and calls at Hobsonville Point again on its way back to Pier 7. Fullers360 runs it for Auckland Transport on all seven days, and the timetable allows 30 minutes from the city to Hobsonville Point.

Compare the two ends of this route and the difference is a matter of minutes, not money. The boat reaches Hobsonville Point 30 minutes after leaving Pier 7, then crosses to Beach Haven in five more. Going back, Beach Haven passengers board first and Hobsonville Point is collected five minutes later, so a Beach Haven commuter spends 35 minutes on the water each way and pays exactly what a Hobsonville Point neighbour pays.
On weekdays 17 boats leave the city between 06:25 and 22:25, and 18 head back. They come every 40 minutes through the morning and from mid-afternoon into the evening, but the middle of the day thins to one boat every two hours. The first sailing does not come from the city at all: it leaves Hobsonville Point at 06:15, picks up at Beach Haven at 06:20 and is back past Hobsonville Point at 06:25 on its way to Pier 7.
Saturdays have eight return trips and Sundays seven, mostly two hours apart, and the operator is Fullers360, with HLC named on AT's printed timetable as a supporter of the service. That makes a day out workable from either end: AT's destination guide points visitors to the Catalina Bay Farmers Market on Saturdays and Sundays and to the coastal walkway and cycle path at Hobsonville Point.
Hobsonville Point and Beach Haven share AT's mid-harbour band with Half Moon Bay and West Harbour, so the fare to Pier 7 is the same from either wharf even though Beach Haven passengers spend five more minutes aboard. AT does not apply its daily or seven-day caps to this route; the product for daily commuters is the Mid Harbour monthly pass at $310 for a month on a registered HOP card, valid as well on local buses and trains at either end of the ferry leg.
The short crossing between Beach Haven and Hobsonville Point has a fare of its own, $4.90 for an adult by card, so the ferry also works as a short link between the two suburbs. Kids with a registered card pay nothing at weekends or on holidays, and SuperGold cardholders travel free from 9am.

From Pier 7 the boat heads west, passes beneath the bridge and carries on up the Waitematā to the wharf at Hobsonville Point. The last leg is the short crossing to Beach Haven on the North Shore side, which AT's printed timetable map draws as a shuttle between the two wharves before the line runs back towards the city.
At Beach Haven the ferry ties up at the end of Beach Haven Road. Bus 933 links that wharf with Princes Street, by the University of Auckland.
Every Hobsonville and Beach Haven sailing uses Pier 7 at the Downtown Ferry Terminal, on both AT's printed timetable and its schedule data. AT's live departure boards group the terminal's piers under stop 96001, so check the pier number on the screens if you are in a hurry.
The wharf is on Hudson Bay Road. Bus 114, which runs to Hobsonville, Whenuapai and the Northwest shopping centre, is timed around most sailings: AT schedules it to arrive seven minutes before a boat leaves for the city and to pull out seven minutes after one arrives, though neither waits for the other when something runs late. AT's park-and-sail list does not include this wharf or Beach Haven.
On weekdays boats leave Hobsonville Point for the city at 09:05, 11:05, 13:05 and 15:05 and nothing between them, so a late morning start can mean a two-hour wait.
City-bound sailings start at Beach Haven and call at Hobsonville Point five minutes later; outbound ones drop at Hobsonville Point first.
Only Saturday has a 22:25 from Pier 7. When the Sunday timetable applies, 20:55 is the final boat out of town.
Bus 114 meets most ferries at Hobsonville Point; at Beach Haven the 933 runs to Princes Street in the city.
25 December and Monday 28 December follow the Sunday pattern; Saturday 26 December keeps Saturday's boats.
Looking for the Hobsonville ferry and not sure which one? Two AT routes carry the name. This one berths at the Hobsonville Point wharf on Hudson Bay Road. The West Harbour ferry is a separate weekday-only service run by Belaire Ferries from Hobsonville Marina, the former Westpark Marina, to Pier 6. It is in the same mid-harbour fare band but has its own wharf, its own pier in town and no weekend boats, and no ferry links the two. Across town to the east, the Half Moon Bay ferry is the other mid-harbour route that Fullers360 runs for AT, while its weekday-only Gulf Harbour ferry from the Whangaparāoa Peninsula sits a band higher.
What is happening at the Hobsonville Point wharf? AT has been lengthening the pontoon by about six metres to the east, replacing three piles with two new ones and leaving room for charging equipment, so that a wider range of ferries, electric and electric-hybrid boats among them, can berth there. Its project page gave late September 2026 as the finish and still showed the work as under construction when we looked on 23 October. Te Kawerau ā Maki contributed a stencil pattern for the pontoon windows, to be unveiled once the project is complete.
